Corio Hotel

Heritage hotel on the Goolwa wharf road

Historic stone hotel on Railway Terrace, Goolwa - one of the town's most recognisable 19th-century buildings, with a pub, restaurant and accommodation.

A heritage river-port pub

The Corio Hotel is one of Goolwa's most photographed heritage buildings, a two-storey stone hotel with wrought-iron balconies on Railway Terrace overlooking the Goolwa Wharf precinct. Built in the mid-19th century during Goolwa's days as a busy Murray River paddle-steamer port, it has operated continuously as a pub since.

Today

The Corio operates as a pub and bistro with upstairs hotel accommodation. Its location right on the wharf precinct makes it a popular stop for visitors riding the SteamRanger Cockle Train, taking paddle steamer cruises, or exploring the Murray Mouth.
