A small boutique winery on Rogers Road high above Sellicks Hill, with sweeping views across the Gulf St Vincent and a by-appointment cellar door.
A winery with a view
Cradle of Hills sits high on the slopes above Sellicks Hill, at the southern end of the McLaren Vale region. Founded by Paul and Tracey Smith, it is a small family-run operation with a single, elevated vineyard and a by-appointment cellar door that offers one of the best views in the region - across the vines to the Gulf St Vincent and (on a clear day) Kangaroo Island.
The wines
Cradle of Hills' winemaking is low-intervention and site-focused. The range centres on shiraz, grenache, tempranillo and mataro, with a small white line led by fiano. Every wine is estate-grown from the home vineyard.
