Dowie Doole

Four shipping containers in the vines

Sustainable solar-powered cellar door housed in four recycled shipping containers amongst the vines on California Road.

A sustainable cellar door

Dowie Doole was founded in 1995 by viticulturists Drew Dowie and Norm Doole, who sold their grapes to other producers before starting their own label. The modern Dowie Doole cellar door is built from four recycled shipping containers welded together and powered entirely by rooftop solar - a standout example of low-impact cellar-door architecture in McLaren Vale.

Wines

The Dowie Doole range focuses on McLaren Vale Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache and Tempranillo, made from estate-grown fruit. The cellar door offers seated tasting flights 7 days a week.
